I have served as a special education assistant at the Clover High School Ninth-grade campus, supporting South Carolina High School Credential students. Before entering education, I spent over a decade in foodservice training roles, overseeing a diverse population of coworkers, including individuals with exceptionalities and those for whom English was not their primary language. My personal connection to special education stems from my child’s experience in the district’s Pre-K disabilities program, where I witnessed firsthand the academic, social, and emotional growth children achieve in classrooms designed to meet their unique needs. I believe that education is a right for all students, and my diverse background helps me scaffold my teaching practices to better meet each learner’s needs. My primary goal as an educator is to create a nurturing environment where students can thrive to their fullest potential, regardless of exceptionalities. I prioritize building strong school-home relationships through two-way communication and community-focused events that celebrate our similarities and diversity, fostering a supportive learning environment for all.
